A letter to the lost

A letter to the lost

Blessing Mhlanga. 3/01/2020.

I write this letter to the lost because l know that they'll be found.  Do not lick the wounds of loss and never forget the prayer of a glamorous sunrise. Arise from the dust oh you abandoned skeletons.

Retain your vigor, silence the chants of foes, and slay the gods of rage enslaving your palace. Wipe your tears, oh you orphans. Remember the tales of bread and butter which haven't forsaken thee.
Divorce your weaknesses, oh you devilish walls. Kindle the skyscrapers with lavish flowers of gleam. Know the colours of your worth. Master the priceless value of your genes and kiss your dreams.

Ignore the thunder, oh you homeless man. Smile and laugh out loud. Gaze the gale with a garment of delight. Shun your fears. The rains shall away the filth of your curse. Reject the losers dear mother, who proclaim the drums of abortion. Who nurse death with a succulent tongue while having sex with the vultures of our young birds.
Silent and silence. Maintain your innocence, dear virgins. Polish your figure with hairs of heavenly fragrance. Uphold your treasure. Master your pure pleasure and further your feathers. Lighten universe, oh you angels of the sky. Smile until the devils of our deserts vanish. Propose a date for the moon. Plan a wedding for the sun and a honeymoon for the innocent clouds.

Breathe afresh dear winds. Saturate and emulate, but don't forget to blow our fears away so that the mercy of the Almighty may shine on us. Applaud your wings, oh master of fame. Fear the creator and murder the predator. Smoke his strength, humble his iron bones and feast on his flaws.
Shine brighter, oh curls of sober lands. Ignite and demand a fairytale so brutal to handle but with a sunny happy ending.
